Hi friends!
I have a lot to catch you up on from my Alaskan Adventure! So let's dive right in!
Food
Glacier Brew House
We went to this place as a celebration for my sister's birthday, my parent's anniversary, and my sister & her husband's anniversary. This was highly recommended from other blogs that I read.
As an appetizer, we ordered "Simply The Best Calamari." This was perfectly cooked & not chewy! I would highly recommend giving this appetizer a shot.
My family also ordered "Alaska Nachos." I did not try these as I did not have Lactaid with me (lactose intolerant). They all raved about these though.
For dinner, I ordered "Alaska Alder-Grilled Salmon" and asked for it to be made without butter. I think they used oil instead, but the dish was amazing. The salmon was cooked well and the asparagus was amazing. The potatoes were cooked well and tasted great dipped int he red wine reduction.
2 of our family members ordered the "Hearty Alaska Seafood Chowder" and they said it was the best they had the whole trip!
Moose's Tooth
This was also highly recommended from blogs that I had read. We ended up ordering 2 appetizers & 3 pizzas. This was too much for all 8 of us and we were all starving.
Here is what we ordered:
Mozzarella Bread Sticks
Diablo Bread Sticks
Large Carnivore Pizza- this was the favorite
Large Santa's Little Helper- not my favorite and was eaten the least
Large 1/2 Mac N Cheese & 1/2 Call of the Wild- this was good & the mushrooms were amazing
49th State Brewery
We ate here for my husband's birthday and everything was amazing!
I ordered the "49th State Halibut and Chips." The batter on this fish was so crunchy and cooked to perfection! The fries were also good and the coleslaw was good, but the fish was the true show stopper!
1/2 of our family ordered the fish & chips and the other half ordered "King Crabby Grilled Cheese." This came with a cup of Alaskan Seafood Chowder. They all loved their meal as well.
Golden Donuts
Now my trip would not have been complete without getting some local donuts. This place was recommended by some locals. I cannot tell you what all we got because we got 2 dozen of many different flavors. We also tried many of them before snapping a shot. My favorite was the blueberry cake!
