How to get healthy

Good afternoon cupcakes!

I was browsing some social media sites this morning and I realized some people have no idea how to be healthy (both physically and mentally). I even fall into this trap sometimes. For example, I like to follow fitness accounts on Instagram and I often feel bad about myself because I cannot obtain their body shape. This is an unrealistic thought for me. I need to be happy with the way my body looks because I treat my body well by exercising daily and eating healthy.

I think to first be healthy physically, we must be healthy mentally! I used to always look in the mirror and see what body part I did not like at that moment. I have learned to stop these thoughts in their tracks and instead say something I love about my body. For example, instead of saying "gosh why can I not have abs like ___" I will say "I love how strong my shoulders are looking. They allow my to carry heavy things!" or "I love the definition I am starting to see in my legs... they allow me to walk, run, and complete daily tasks."

Instead of body shamming, let's start the trend of body loving! When I have a positive mindset, I am more likely to be happy, talk to others, eat healthy food (and a healthy amount), and exercise. So, the main point I am trying to get across is... Love YOURSELF! You are unique and BEAUTIFUL! <3

It also helps to encourage others. Tell someone something you love about them! Give others compliments and have them come from your heart. They do not have to be physical compliments; compliment people on their personalities. I love when people tell me how caring I am. I love when people tell me how nice of a person I am.

Let's INSPIRE each other to be the best versions of ourselves!

I hope you find LOVE, PEACE, and HAPPINESS within yourself today!

Peace out... Later Taters!

Meals and workouts

Good afternoon cupcakes!

I wanted to update you guys on my meals for this week and my workouts in case you want to follow along!

Last night I made a quick trip to Aldi. I picked up some gluten free/dairy free baking mix to make some pancakes. I haven't had any grains since my Whole30 ended. I mixed the baking mix with egg whites, applesauce, and raisins to make a wonderful pancake! It tasted almost like the real thing only healthier. I topped it with melted cashew butter and a few banana slices. I also had 2 eggs (protein, carbs, and healthy fat).
I like this flavor of La Croix: Cran-Raspberry!
For lunch I will be having sweet potatoes, chicken breast, and hidden underneath is my homemade guacamole. I also have an apple to snack on.
Dinner is going to be this fantastic Mexican salad. It has lean ground turkey (99% cooked with coconut oil, pink Himalayan salt, chili powder, garlic powder, and cumin), black olives, tomato slices, green pepper slices, romaine lettuce, and a side of celery.

Here is what I am planning on prepping for next week:

Here was Tuesday's workout:

Here is my workout from today:

Here is Thursday's workout:

And here is Friday's workout:

Time for me to get back to writing my last paper for this summer semester!

Peace!

reflection

Hey Cupcakes!

So, I have been thinking a lot today about actually doing another Whole 30. I am wondering if I am doing it for the right reasons. Because of this, I think I am going to wait and do a strict Whole30 3 or 4 times a year instead of doing them back to back. I think my mindset for wanting to do another Whole30 was because I felt guilty eating foods that were not compliant on my vacation (I did not even hardly eat foods that were not compliant). I am still going to eat probably 90% Whole30 compliant for this month. I want this blog to be used for my honest thoughts and feelings, so with that being said... no Whole30 for now. I will still be posting my meals and prep so you can all see how easy it is to still eat Whole30 compliant foods while not actually being on the Whole30. I think this choice will benefit me! I want to hear from all of you as to what you would like to see more of on this blog. Do you enjoy seeing posts about my adventures, cooking, exercise, advice, etc. Let me know so I can best use this blog.

P.S. Whole30 is a lifestyle, not a diet! I think I was going into this next Whole30 thinking of it as more of a diet...which is not the right mindset!

Later Taters!

Stay active, happy, and healthy!
