Highest viewer count yesterday!! plus 4 foods to boost your metabolism and a recipe

Yesterday's post received the highest page view of my blog's history! YAY!! I guess I will keep doing what I am doing and hope to help more people along the way! Here is today's meal plan:
Here is today's yoga fix: Total Body Yoga
I will be going to the gym to get in my hour cardio

4 Foods to boost your metabolism:

1. Lemon Juice- I drink hot lemon juice right when I get up in the morning. Lemon juice with water before a meal can help lower your blood sugar also.

2. Cinnamon- helps balance blood sugar and improve insulin sensitivity, and it helps curb your sweet tooth

3. Cayenne Pepper- can help you burn more calories and curb hunger (hot sauce works too!)

4. Coconut Oil and Coconut Milk- both are antiviral and antibacterial so they keep a good balance of healthy bacteria in your stomach

Here is a recipe from the Hungry for Change website:

These Protein Power Bars are easy to make, super nourishing and they taste freaking delicious! Packed full of protein, essential nutrients and good fats! The perfect combination of flavors make these bars super yummy, and the fact that they are made from super nourishing ingredients, they taste more like a naughty treat than a healthy snack! Eating well does not have to be boring or expensive!

Dry Ingredients:

  • I cup activated pumpkin seeds
  • 1 cup activated almonds
  • 1 cup hemp seeds
  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup royal quinoa puffed
  • 1/2 cup oat bran
  • 1 tablespoon organic vanilla bean powder
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Wet Ingredients:
  • 10 medjool dates, pitted
  • 5 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
Directions:
Combine all the dry ingredients into food processor and pulse. Do not over process as we want it to stay crunchy.

Add the mixture to bowl and set aside. Add dates and coconut oil to food processor and mix until combined.

Pour wet ingredients over dry, mix using wooden spoon. If mixture is still too dry add an extra tablespoon of coconut oil or filtered water.

Spread batter evenly into baking dish and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Cut into bars and store in air-tight container in fridge.
Later Taters! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
