Day 24 Whole30- Last week!

Good morning cupcakes!

I cannot believe it is the last week of Whole30 already! Where has time gone? Anyways, I am feeling great and I can see changes in my body (I will post my progress photo on Day 30!). This weekend was a little rough on me. It was that time of month.... so along with the cramps and bloating came the negative body image thoughts. I think this is pretty common for most women during their time of the month. So, what do you do when these thoughts enter your mind? What I like to do is tell myself 3 things I love about my body right when I am having negative thoughts. Stay positive! I also normalize the situation for myself. I tell myself, "this is only a few days out of my life and I know that my hormones are going crazy right now. This is only temporary and my body doesn't normally look or feel like this!" It is sooo important to not let these thoughts get to you and your emotions. Negative thoughts can give way to emotional eating too, so..... Love your body!

Here is a picture of my morning workout:

Breakfast was hot lemon water followed by 2 scrambled eggs, berries, 1/2 a banana, and homemade pecan butter.

Lunch: unstuffed peppers with avocado.

Dinner: zucchini/ sweet potato noodles

Snack: carrots with homemade almond butter

  1. Day 16!

30 min. run, 30 min. weights (arms)

Breakfast: 1 c blueberries with coconut milk, 1 T walnut butter
    Lunch: 2 eggs, pear
    Snack: 3oz chicken breast
Dinner: sweet potato, tilapia, roasted veggies
Snack: 1 banana, 1 hard boiled egg

I am more than half way done with Whole30 and I feel so amazing! I do miss having tofu at times, but I know that this program is so beneficial for me. It has helped my skin, too! I have really bad acne, and have for years! Nothing has helped, not even the dermatologist. It isn't cystic, it is more hormonal, so cutting out some foods has helped! Also, I am trying to not drink as much coffee. I usually drink 1-2 cups a day, but some days I don't have any. Thankfully I do not get headaches, it is more that I feel nauseous and extremely tired. Last week I felt so sick at work, so I got a cup and felt better. Am I upset? Yes. Did I let it ruin my day? No, because I drank it black and put ice in it. I would rather have 1 cup of coffee than feel sick at work all day. I haven't had a cup today or yesterday, and I am feeling great!

    1. Awesome Alyssa! I'm glad you are seeing how amazing Whole30 is! I love it so much I am going to try to eat this way post Whole30! :D
